Very southern Mn | Our local dealer has a very good engine tech, he has been doing it for 40 years. He told me they have went to rebuilt engines, sometimes short blocks. It is faster, they have a warranty and usually costs about same in the end. I talked to him this summer and they were doing rebuilt engines for the 8000 series tractors and class 7 combine I believe for under $50000 installed. Big cost now is the time it takes to get all the emission crap off and reinstalled. There is a pile of stuff around the engine that never used to be there. That would not be bigger block, didn’t ask him on those.
