I followed most of what you said there, but the part about more breakdowns in the first 2 years than the next 10 is, I hate to say ignorant, but is a wild exaggeration. A 10-12 year old combine may be very dependable, or it can be, as I like to say, a time bomb on wheels. I hear a big Deere motor is over a 100 now, and a hydrostat can approach or exceed that
I imagine that $100k engine could be rebuilt for a fraction of that, correct?? Unless it threw a rod or broke a crank. |
