Holly Hill, SC | I guess I am a little sour from my last new combine purchase. 2022 Case 6150 has had 4 to 6 major breakdowns and about 10 to 15 minor issues (under 600 hours) when my 2010 Case 5088 combine has had very few issues ever. I figure it takes 2 years to get all the problems worked out. I don't buy often or trade often but I think (maybe I am wrong) but the sweet spot in equipment may be 2 to 6 years old?? Also another way to look at it, what does it cost the farmer to trade every 2 years? In 10 years that is 5 trades, that money saved from not trading could buy an engine which I would hope is rarely needed. | |
