Apparently SCH is still junk.. Gave up on them 15-20 years ago. Drive head, splice bars, broke sickles. Junk. They do a fantastic job of cutting if you can keep them running, but that won't happen.
We've cut thousands of acres with an SCH bar, and have replaced maybe 15 guards and similar quantity of sections in those years. Cut a 3/8" electric fence post in half one time and only knicked the teeth on one section, no broken guard. We have learned, we have a double center drive head (NH 880) with countersunk bolts, get them tight, and don't re-use them.
