Southeast Colorado | I'm reminded of our wildfire several years back. Among many problems we had 4 bags of corn......about 50k bushels, where the fire had gone through and burned the bags off. The corn was smoldering and had to constantly be put out as it kept re-igniting. After the first couple of days we called the FSA office since we had the grain under a CCC loan. We were hoping that by chance there would be an insurance policy associated with it being in that program (since we didn't have private insurance on it). They came over and inspected it. The next day we got a call, and they said there was no insurance..........and we had one week to pay back the loan since it was no longer in an approved storage structure.
Yah, good times. | |
