Do you think it possible to put the planter where the solid roller is and mount the roller on the main frame of the planter ahead of the units, and plant in the same pass or do you suggest waiting..? Lift assist? Only doing 8 rows.

It depends on your planting speed and depth. If corn stalks are fresh and a lot of them on the surface, you’re probably going to experience uneven planting depths, particularly with soybeans. To be honest, what you’re asking and the quality of bed, 36” or 38” beds would be ALOT better than 30”. Not near as much soil in a 30” bed and that means bed height, as well, compared to 36” or 38”.
