Tomball,Texas

It’s amazing the amount or rain a hurricane can produce.Tropical storms/ hurricanes are measured and categorized by wind speed but some of them cause way more damage by the rainfall than the wind.
Some of the worst flooding storms I remember coming through here didn’t have fast enough winds to be called a hurricane, just tropical storm or depression and set down and dump a couple feet of rain. Here it’s pretty flat and some of the flood plains can get pretty wide and stay flooded for days while it goes down but that kind of water coming down the mountains is moving fast, lots of destruction with no time to get out of the way.
