I usually drive about 60 on the highway, tailgaters are the ones that really bother me, either pass (plenty of opportunities) me or drop back.
60 MPH is 88 feet per second, if you're not going to pass, 1 second would give you another 88 feet of safety, that's a pretty good return for 1 second of my life for me.
