| I've been quite a few years working on this very issue. I started out following all the "sleep hygiene" stuff; go to bed at a set time, get up at a set time, keep your bedroom cool, stay away from phones and screens before bed- all good advice, and helped.
Then I stumbled on to Stasha Gominak. Search her out on youtube, there are lots of podcasts where she is a guest, plus she has her own website. Has a protocol called Right Sleep. Check it out, it helped me.
Most recently I ran into an insomnia issue, I was waking up at 1 or 2 am and could not go back to sleep. I started digging through some podcasts, the common denominator was exercise and circadian rhythm. Listened to thhttps://www.youtube.com/live/p_1qqzywKD8?si=Qmytq0KQTAx6Jk1nis podcast that helped.
Basically, she said that if you don't get outside in the morning your internal clock can get out of whack, and this can lead to insomnia. I started trying to get in a half hour walk as close to first light as I can. Seems to have helped. Before, I was getting up at 5 AM, and hitting the basement office at 7, might not get outside until 10 or later. (not farming anymore).
Anyway, this all helped me.
