Here’s a few questions concerning the article you posted:

How do you know they were buried unceremoniously? They might have been buried with the utmost of care and dignity. It was simply a cemetery that no one bothered to officially make a cemetery so it became run down.

Why wasn’t the restoration an initiative of the descendants of the tribes that went to that school instead of a university and their students? It’s hard to blame others for neglecting that cemetery if it wasn’t important enough to the descendants of those tribes to maintain it all those years or restore it now.

What offence was committed simply because the graves were unmarked? There are literally thousands upon thousands of natives buried around the countryside in unmarked graves by their own people. Did their ancestors also commit an offence?

Why were they willing to disturb the graves when they knew they were actually graves but refused to allow digging up anomalies that showed up with ground penetrating radar that they actually have no proof they are even graves? If they were telling the truth that the reason was that they didn’t want to disturb the final resting places of their people they would have not allowed digging up known graves.

Anyways, the gravesite was a known gravesite and the excavation that occurred in your article is not the same as the supposed “mass graves” that were only known about because of anomalies on ground penetrating radar. There have been no bodies exhumed from any of the sites identified by only ground penetrating radar. They did actually dig up at least one site and found no bodies. Unless they actually find a body, many actually, at the supposed mass burial sites it appears like it was just one big hoax.
