In that era, grandparents did not have a pickup. They DID have a model T truck but usually there was a 2 wheel trailer (made from a old car front axle) that got pulled behind the family car. That is how the milk got to town and other stuff hauled around from what Dad said. Including him. They'd visit relatives in the city and grandparents with 3 daughters in the back of the '37 Ford 2 door car so Dad got to ride in the trailer (on gravel roads) along with whatever eggs and garden stuff they were bringing.

You don't see too many of those early pickups.
