I’m sorry that your church has had the issues it’s had, many people get hurt. There’s much more to the faith than classes and knowing the right answer
However, I would encourage you to read James 2:14-26, as it shows that grace and faith alone aren’t sufficient markers of salvation
Have a good day
It’s fine we are active else where now and still pray for the church and pastor. They have have seen a steep decline in attendance as we are not the only ones that thought things got biblically out of line. When a pastor says he wished he could stick a gun to your to head to show how important this is two weeks in row to a group of 11 and 12 year olds in first communion knowing we lost a teen in the church a couple months before to suicide really didn’t sit well. Then passing failing kids on Lutheran doctrine and history when faith is personal choice he really didn’t seem to get it. He came to faith later in life and somehow missed some pretty important Christian teachings. Thank God we have bibles we can read and have God to guide us and question pastors as they can make mistakes too. The old pastors who tried to correct him were correct in doing so and did so in a biblical manner. Church leadership was to lazy to require change or fire him as they didn’t want to have to find a new pastor after taking a while to find this one which was dismissed from his previous church we found out later just not sure what for. |
