Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana | First, I want to relay best wishes and prayers to all severely affected by Hurricane Helene.
Also please understand I'm not complaining, all we have is a few down limbs. But I don't think I have ever seen a Hurricane cause this much destruction this far north.
There are homes damaged 20 miles west of me in New Castle (falling trees), and many people in our small town (Hagerstown) were without electricity for over 24 hours.
The wife and I went to an orchard about twenty miles east this morning and they were still operating on generators after their power went out Friday night.
We saw many downed trees and poles on the trip.
Generally, a hurricane is nothing here, the 10% of the time we get something it's no more than a day of rain and 20-30 mph winds.
