Coldwater, Michigan | John Moyer who originally started Moyer Grain was a cousin to my dad. Both have now been dead for several years. Interestingly enough, when John Moyer died, the people who bought Moyer Grain passed it down to their son. That son married a girl who is the sister to my brothers wife. It took a few years, but it danged near made it back to the Moyer family. The elevator is still called "Moyer Grain". Back in the day, John had ICC routes that allowed him to haul or control many of the pickles that were hauled to Heinz in Indianapolis. I looked up New Waverly last night after I posted. Then I was embarrassed! Used to go over US 24 to Peru every once in a while as a kid. Have even used US 24 in recent years to go to Lafayette.
