NW Ohio | Buy a direct bury cat6 cable, bury it and place an access point in the shop. I buried a cable about 75’ from my house to shop just by digging with a shovel and placing the wire 3”-4” deep through my yard. Did this about 4 years ago and all has been well. If you’re going through a driveway or something though, probably better have some sort of conduit. I understand the idea of fiber. But is the cost worth it when cat6 copper cable will give you 10gbps already? And to utilize the fiber or 10gbps copper you need special router/switch/access points to take advantage of them driving your cost way up.Amazon has 150’ of direct bury cat6 cable, 10gbps, for $34 | |
