South Central MN | We have a 1050 on 585 as well.
On ours, there a sensor inside the end divider that'd bind up. There's a linkage in there to the rotary position sensor, and it'd get pushed down, jam, and then not reset so the combine always thought it was buried on the ground and would try to correct. I think one of the times it was the connecting rod linkage that was jamming, and the other time the rod that rotates with flippers under the deck for height sensing got a pebble stuck behind it and it couldn't fall back down like it was supposed to.
Not a real good description of the problems but I'm not by the head to take pics.
