So my take away is to be consistent. Keep the same X number of heifers every year for breeding to replace the culls. Trying to outguess the market can be costly for some.
I agree! It's difficult the first year and second financially but after the ball gets rolling you'll never know the difference imo. Consistency pays! It's a satisfying feeling driving thru a pasture of home raised cows knowing you selected the heifers in the beginning and now you are reaping the benefits. Hard to put a dollar amount on some things in the cattle business.
