Subject: RE: Black Label Zn?

Coldwater, Michigan
9-18-9 on "light sandy soils" can have seed burn issues at rates over 3 gallons/acre. Heavier soils probably not an issue. 6-24-6 is much safer, and is not 9-18-9 with 10-34-0. The poly (NaChurs/Alpine 20%) in the 6-24-6 sequesters micro-nutrients such as EDTA Zinc quite well.

Riser never showed any real promise in my replicated starter trials. Man, it used to only cost $6.50/gallon and only 2 3/8 gallons/acre was required. UAP products always seem to have a lot of story to them, and it carries a high price.

Black Label is a humic product if I remember correctly. It is the humic that gives the high CEC, but understand that is only at the point of contact. When you get under that thin veneer it is still what the soil was before you put that small drop on the soil. Paying a terrible price for humic. The fertilizer componenet isn't a bad product, but they jack the price for including the humic componenet. Will it perform? See Riser above.

The 6-24-6 with the pint to 1 1/2 pints of EDTA Zinc will outperform the UAP/Loveland product usually by at least 5-6 BPA. I used to be a DSM for NaChurs/Alpine, and even though I now compete against them, the comments above were very typical in my replicated starter plots.
