central sask | You will need a 5000 series cart to get away from the chain/sprocket selection setup. I think they were out in 1999 or so. I have a(2001) 5350 TBH. I used our old (built in1993)3225 with dual fans and granular tank/kit to broadcast seed and put fert down the shanks on 1600 acres of Canola and mustard. The drive setup on my 5350 is VERY nice.
We have accurately put out 3.5#'s of Canola with the 3225. Monitors are basic but reliable (and fixable for reasonable $$$).
Because we have the granular kit we have LOTS of sprockets, but still had to borrow a 16 tooth and 64 tooth last spring. 150# of 33-0-0-11, 75# of S15 (13-33-0-15) down the shanks and 5# of 8440LL out the granular tank/kit.
Very hard to beat a BG air cart. | |
