Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | The age of the tractor may be involved since some of the very early 8xxxRs were basically a 30 series. There are several choices and combinations that can work but not all.
Here's my evolution for what it's worth. I purchased an 8310R from the local dealer but it was to go out on lease to the local vegetable company to pull a dump cart for the Green Pea harvest. After harvest, the tractor was returned to the dealership for cleanup and various checks. I then took ownership.
While out on lease, someone installed a Trimble Auto Pilot using a Nav II through the tractor's CAN system. When the tractor was returned off of lease, the Trimble system had been removed. It utilized some type of Trimble display. I have no idea how well it worked. The tractor had the third party CAN unlock installed in it to use the Trimble system.
When I took ownership, I wanted to go with Ag Leader due to my previous experience with Ag Leader and the fact that I worked for an Ag Leader dealership. One of my Coworkers installed an Integra and Ag Leader's GeoSteer. Later Ag Leader had a trade-up program which allowed me to trade in the Integra and steering items toward an InCommand 1200 with Ag Leader's steering option of that time which was called SteerCommand.
Later still, Ag Leader came out with their own steering system which they call Steer Command Z2. The Steering module uses the same wiring and the swap from Steer Command non Z2 to Steer Command Z2 was extremely easy. All interaction is done through the InCommand with the familiar Ag Leader type menus etc.
I use an Ag Leader GPS 7500 with the TerraStar Pro C unlock as my GPS source To utilize this service I must pay a subscription fee. The subscription is for a short term or a full year at a time. I go with the yearly fee.
Ag Leader came out with an option called Turn Path which is their form of automated steering for turning around on the field ends. This unlock is/was available on a free trial basis. I was impressed with it and purchased this one time unlock which stays with the InCommand 1200. It worked very well on the 8310R which is our planting tractor. The system handles steering in the field and makes the Headland turn around for us. It does not control raising/lowering the planter, we still need to do that ourselves.
I also have the older Steer Command (not the Z2) in an 8120 and an old 8310. An external steering valve is used in those tractors since CAN steering was not available for those older models.
Besides these I have Ag Leader's Steady Steer assisted steering (turns steering wheel for me) in my 9770 combine. I move the InCommand 1200 from the 8310R planting tractor to a Hagie Sprayer without aided steering to my combine with the Steady Steer. This year will be the first year with the Turn Path option in the combine which may prove useful.
I mention all this to illustrate that there are many combinations of Ag Leader displays and steering options that can be used. I'm not certain about the combination of using the CAN type steering with your Integra and your tractor. A knowledgeable dealer should be able to determine this for you.
I'm certain that the current InCommand displays are needed to utilize the Steer Command Z2. In other words, I don't know if your Integra would work with the CAN method and Steer Command Z2. I believe you would be able to use your Integra with the CAN method and the older Steer Command (not Z2).
Switching to an InCommand would allow using Steer Command Z2. Switching to an InCommand would allow using Ag Leader's Steady Assisted Steering. It works well. It uses a motor on the steering wheel but the motor fits nicely and the tractor's CAN system would not be involved. Since you seem to be interested mostly with steering, this might be a viable option.
Hopefully this give you some ideas of possible choices.
