Holly Hill, SC | Keep it simple. First pass in field is straight track from on AB line established years ago. If this first pass is along the road with power poles and maybe guy wires I just break from the auto steer and navigate around the pole and then reengage auto steer. 2nd pass is just perfect straight. My end rows consist of two passes once the main straight track rows are planted. I free hand plant the first end row pass while in Adaptive curve mode and it auto records as the planter is down. (Set line recording to "documentation") The second pass is auto steer off the recorded path from the first. If significant bend or stitch was create on the first pass to avoid a pole, I just free hand plant a smoother line until I merge back into the recorded path.
As I have stated before a simply straight track line has major advantages over an auto path, adaptive curve, AB curve etc... This is simple for everyone else that has to work in the field after the planter.
For creating boundaries I like using the computer to make them off planting data. They are perfect this way. Otherwise I would record the boundary as I go fully around the field while spraying. You can stick the boom neatly in the corners and press pause till you get out of the corner or at a straight edge with poles, pause the recording once starting down the pass, navigate around the poles and then resume recorded at the end of the pass. | |
