With the early US yields coming in all well over 200 bu we better pray for crop troubles in South America.
Lol.. you’re joking right?
Irrigated Corn here.. last week was running from 18.5% to over 20%
by yesterday evening.l we’re already down to 16.5%. Arrgghh.. and only 20% done.. with winds in the forecast.
Right now.. first field did 225.. current one is running.. 245 ish.. right across the road.. dryland is.. probably 12% to 18% running from 20 to 80 bu.
Man is it dry!!
They are picking up corn out of the field for like.. “a lot” over.. here.. if you miss the gut slot harvest bushels.. it’ll cost more later.. and the board is cheap. The ethanol plant will have 40 semis available to come get corn this week..
I’m binning as much as I can.. as fast as I can.. but.. I can deliver 50 over.. and set an order.. $4.25 so net $4.75.. or bin it where I can run faster..
???
Are we on track to hit NASSs record yield??
A wind storm will turn 240 bu corn into 200 pretty darn quick.. the bears get this?
???
or do they?
Edit add to clarify.. we've had heavy rust.. sprayed once.. probably should have done another but $$$.. neighbor did spray his dryland.. when it looked like 100 bu +.. looked like he got 70 + so.. did it pay???
Maybe.. could have been worse..
Hot dry and windy.. not a good forecast. But a chance of Rain also.. like every drought has.. lol
On 2nd thought.. peak yield is probably now.. once below 15.5%.. can't get that back..
