Subject: First year with a chopper

Dayton, IA
I asked on here about setting my chopper for earlage and got some good replies. We finished yesterday, filled the bunker, 50 x 140 with 6 ft walls. Claas 980 with kooima double roll adapter . Wouldn’t pick up my corn head, Claas Farmpoint sent a mechanic and he got the hydraulic pump adjusted. They are a new dealership and a factory mechanic from Germany came with also, he is here for 5 weeks getting the new mechanic going on choppers. He was excited to see a chopper doing earlage, had never seen it before. They also took a little time to look it over and get me through the first wagon load. Farmpoint is opening a dealership close to me soon and has already hired several mechanics close so I should have good parts and service in the future. A big help was a small dump wagon I bought last minute at the Pocahontas machinery auction. Made the first couple loads a lot less stressful not having to worry about coordinating with somebody to open the field.
Best part was we took our time so could get the pile packed well, it’s always a hurry to keep the custom guy going and we just pack with the wheel loader so need a little time to do a good job.
