| I had a load of my own hogs on. It was a hot day and I blew a hose. I lost all my water. My insurance company had told me when I bought my insurance they would not cover my own product.
I looked at the hogs and could see they weren't going to last long in a stopped truck.
At that time a load of hogs was worth about $5,500 and a rebuilt 3208 was about $3500, so away I went. I had managed o splice the hose back together with what I had but had very little water to add.
The temperature never went up so I thought I was fine. It normally didn't when hauling livestock.
The thought never crossed my mind the temperature gauge wouldn't work without water.
I probably would have been fine, except after I unloaded the hogs I thought I would top off the water. When I added water I got a big cloud of steam and heard the loudest cracking sound
I ended up using Jb weld around the heads to stop the external water leaks.
I ran it several years after that. | |
