We have a Miller wire welder.
I have issues getting the wire to feed correctly.
Sometimes it’s fine.
Sometimes it’s staccato.
Sometimes welds to the tip.
Helps to keep the cable straight, but that is not 100%.
The cable liner did get replaced once.
The rollers are about as tight as they can go.
Maybe I need to talk to the dealer.
Check to make sure you are running the correct size of roller for your wire, then replace the liner again and be care to make sure you don’t kink it or have any burs when you cut it again. Also check to make sure the wire is actually running in the groove of the roll. Sometimes the alignment can be off causing a vibration feeling when you weld.
Less common you can have faulty wire that doesn’t have consistent thickness causing feeding issues. Also, the bearings in the drive rolls can fail causing excessive play. |
