And that really isn't enough information to make the determination of statin or not according to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
1. Does he have high blood pressure? Does he smoke? Does he have diabetes? Is he overweight?
2. Has he had a previous stroke, TIA, blocked arteries, previous heart surgeries?
3. Does he have a high LDL or family history of heart disease?
4. Does he have diabetes and a high LDL?
There's many risk factors to consider than just those raw lab results. | |
