It appears the body regulates how much cholesterol we need. If we don't eat enough, it makes more to make up for our lack of consumption.
If I remember correctly, the body internally creates around 70% of the total.
Immune function and sex hormones depend on adequate levels of cholesterol as does the brain. Yet drugs to reduce it are a multi billion dollar market. Odd. | |
