IADAVE - But back in the day we were only cutting 1,500 acres a year with 8820. If I ran it over 12,000 acres we have today or 6,000 if you want to be fair since we run 2 combines, then it won't be as reliable as some you think. When I measure reliability I take in account the amount of acres and bushels our newer combines process.
I think a lot of people seem to forget this. The acres and hours really don't matter, those are just easy measurements to make. What wears and tears at the combine are the bushels and crop material going through it. I'm not saying today's machines don't have legitimate complaints with price and reliability. But they're taking in a lot more crop than 10, 20 and 30 years ago. We're running larger platforms and most have significant higher yields too.
