Subject: RE: Learned something new about honey bees

Western EC Iowa

Mainly oxalic acid vapor. This weekend I will be putting on apivar strips, which stay on for 8 weeks. Will get me through harvest season, then do oxalic again when they are broodless about Thanksgiving. The keys are to have healthy bees now so they can make it through and not too many bees or they eat everything and starve. Usually I start feeding about now with 2/1 sugar/water, but they are still bringing in nectar and pollen and I don't think I will have to feed. Tons and tons to know and learn.
