| Another way to look at it is they claim 30 acres an hour. So in theory 450 acres a day, 30 acres of harvesting is 13,500 a year. Lets say you only do 350 day and it takes you 38 days to combine 13,500 acres. You keep combine 3 years for a total of 40,000 acres. Combine cost a million, if it’s worth nothing at the end of three years that’s $24 per acre.
I went to farm progress and Elmers had a 3000 bushel grain cart there, I asked the guy why? He said that is what guys want, so they made it. Big combines probably the same story. | |
