Subject: Learned something new about honey bees

north central Ohio
At the age of 41 I just learned honey bees are not native to North America. One of my kids shared this info with me this morning and I didn’t believe them until looking it up myself. I guess I just figured they were since the government seems pretty intent on protecting them. Row crop farmers have been made the bad guy in the honey bees health and decline only to find out they are not native to begin with and maybe there in lies some of the issue. Which leads to another question how did North American plant life survive before honey bees and what were the dominate pollinators? Maybe that is what should be promoted vs the invasive honey bee?
