I went to school in the 2000's in a city of 200k people...every elementary, middle, and high school had a SRO at every single building...hiring armed guards is an absolute disaster of an idea...The easy solution like I already laid out is making an AR15 a class 3 NFA weapon just like a machine gun or suppressor...yes its still completely legal to own a fully automatic machine gun with the right paperwork. Its just more difficult to get, it solves the problem without infringing any rights and keeping those weapons out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.
