Exactly, after you blow it out, and rinse, soak it down with a dawn and water mix from a garden sprayer, keep wet a few minutes, then rinse again. When it dries, blow it out again. Put a light on the other side and look through to see how plugged the fins are, not just that you can see the light, look for the dirt.
A non contact thermometer to take the temps when the alarm goes off will tell a lot also.
