“Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”
Replace “guns” with literally anything else and the statement falls apart. Example: cyanide doesn’t kill people people kill people
But why is this argument pointless?
Because guns, like crossbows, swords, and neurotoxin, are designed specifically to kill people.
The double standard is pointless. The right will protect fetuses, but not actual living, breathing, people??? Why?
Well, they believe a Fetus is a person… a bloody fetus!
And, apparently they will put this fetus above the lives of people who have already been born!
But, “Guns don’t kill people” they say!
Right, a nuke won’t kill me.
Let’s get the facts straight:
a firearm is a weapon. A weapon is designed to kill or injure.
Guns are firearms, firearms are weapons, weapons are designed to kill people.
What about the second half of the argument?
Okay then, “falling down stairs doesn’t kill people, people kill people.”
It’s still a stupid argument. Also, I’ve heard conversations by pro gun people as to how they would defend themselves. It’s not pretty.
Okay, so what is it doesn’t kill you?
Alright then, Maim. Still not good.
The point is, guns are very dangerous and should be treated with the same or more respect than nukes. Guns are very effective at killing people, and they will only get better at that. If your first thought for defending yourself is “ I’ll use my Gun” then maybe you should not have a gun.
Also, advice for all gun store owners: if someone comes in saying they feel unsafe and need a gun, don’t start selling them a gun. Ask them to go see a doctor. That “bad feeling” may be caused by something that a gun would only make worse.
Saying a gun can’t kill me is like saying a nuke can’t kill me. If we treated firearms like nukes, then the world may be a safer place. Of course treating nukes like Americans treat firearms would end humanity. Or at least America.
So, let’s stop the b..s.and treat things like what they are. And respect them. Remember anything will kill you, some are just better at it than others.
