Champaign, IL | I am sure a lot of people have seen this, but it is the first for me. Today, heading down the UP line from Watseka to Villa Grove, IL. This was straight east of Pesotum, IL. 40 cars were at this crossing to see the engine. The only disappointment was they were going by at 50 mph, when I was hoping for 40. Such a beauty for 80 years old. Another of the 100’s of reasons we won WW II. They ran these 25 engines 24/7 for 5 years.
Added picture. My good friend went to Villa Grove Tuesday morning and took a nice photo of the daily prep this engine gets.
