Faunsdale, AL | Why don’t the cops have higher capacity weapons?
The slippery slope argument has always worked to rev up the base, but I think it’s the wrong approach long term. I believe it’s the way to loose all rights in the end.
The thing about making stuff like high capacity weapons illegal vs leaving it legal is when someone goes to lengths to make something illegal or is discovered to have something illegal, it is both a sign of intent to do harm and a reason for law enforcement to act. As long as the preferred tools of mass murder are legal, stopping it is going to be impossible.
Bombs have always been difficult for amateurs. There’s a long history of bombers blowing themselves up, being discovered during their experimentation phase or building something that doesn’t work. It can be done, but historically, only when manufactured/military munitions etc are available, have bombs been popular with crazies
Knives are certainly a problem but again not tools of mass murder that have to be countered by those with specialized equipment. A book, a baseball bat, a chair…..you get the picture. | |
