Princeton, MN | I would stay away if you want one for hay work. You will never find a speed you are happy with. They even came out with a different set of gears to put in for 2nd to adjust that but there is just too big of a gap between the speeds. The only use we found for a 1586 is to sit on a big auger and other PTO work. We had a 2 speed pto put on it from a smaller tractor. Tried putting it on the TMR when the deeres were down, but the guys would complain too much about driving it. Unless this model has the PFC hydraulic system (closed center) your hydraulic experience is going to be terrible too, especially when trying to run multiple functions. The only real strong thing on these tractors is that 436 engine, they are fuel efficient and very easy to coax a lot of horsepower out of. jmho | |
