| After neighbors tree put couple holes in my roof talked him into the removal of that dirty old elm. It was 150 or more feet tall and 55” diameter at stump. I split the cost with him since he said couldnt afford it all. Took day and a half of sawing and zip lineing
Anyway when got done looked at stump and it was two trees that grew up a ways and then grew together into one tree. Never saw that before but claim no tree expert status. There was bark all across the middle with a couple inch crack.
I was busy getting my cancer sawed off my face so didnt see it all, but tickled to death its gone and neighbor is too. It was about 5 years overdue. Having that big of tree 2 foot from his house and 6’ from mine is quite ridiculous.
Now if I could talk fast enough for neighbor on other side that has another threatening from other side…… we would be planting some pretty decorative medium size to replace in front yard.
Is it normal for elms to grow together? | |
