"....A bushel is a measure of volume but has a specific weight assigned to it. 56 pounds for corn and 60 pounds for soybeans. We are paid by the bushel but all grain is measured by weight...."???

For God's sake?
Dear friends, it's 11.30pm here, I'm just finishing my second can of Heineken. I have another one in the fridge, but I had no intention of taking it. Admit that a bushel is a confusing and wrong measure, and I'm going to sleep. lol

Its more fun this way. A bit outdated perhaps. Would you be interested in a bushel of washington states finest apples? It would be about 42# of apples but often sold by the bushel basket at farmers markets etc. Maybe heaped up a little just for good measure :)
