Subject: RE: Trapshooting setup for high school son

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

About 18 years ago I shot trap in a summer league in western NY. Buddy loaned me his BT99. It had a high comb and a recoil absorbing stock but not much else externally. IIRC it did have a high cheek piece on the stock. The guy who loaned it to me was about the same size as me so it fit me pretty well. It had been ported. Recoil was not much more than a .22. Only ran 25 once that summer but usually got at least 23. Shot at a different club every week so was always looking at a different background. That BT99 is the only trap gun I ever shot so I don't have anything to compare. Used to shoot skeet with a Browning A500R. That one worked well for me. Only other shotgun I have used in the last 30 years is my "old reliable" (Browning A5).
