I worry about yield but if I have two hybrids that yield the same but one is heavier I will use it because I can store more bushels in my grain bins and make less trips with semi when loaded end to end and handle that much less physical material with augers.


If those are your two best hybrids, you better use both of them. The lower test weight of the one isn't a big enough deal to risk a year that happens to kick the higher test weight hybrid where it hurts. So many risk factors, elevating test weight above it's value is bad business.

And get a bigger trailer so you can haul the same amount of bushels no matter what the test weight is.(a bushel is always 56 lbs, always).
