Marion,ks

I  farm in the 1-135  corridor.Corn will go 0-150 depending on rain fall one year 0-10 next year 140 it generally quits raining in early July. Double crop soybeans are a crop insurance game can insure them now and that main reason continuous wheat acres are down. The problem around here is our input costs are are high for corn and our basis is not great like Jons also we have a lot of poor quality corn.  All the feedlots are 100-150 miles west of here, Ethanol Plants are 70 miles west and very picky about buying corn from east of I-135 ,cob rot  damage ,aflatoxin and the like discounts are huge.Crop insurance is the main reason so much rowcrop is grown around here.
