| Here in the US, corn and soybean yields are almost always stated in bushels per acre. What is actually measured at harvest is the pounds per acre and then the number of bushels is calculated from that number. The only time TW affects the value of your commodity is if it drops below the threshold set by the business that you sell to. Many places will have 54.0 pound TW set as the threshold. If your corn weighs less that that you will get docked.
A bushel is a measure of volume but has a specific weight assigned to it. 56 pounds for corn and 60 pounds for soybeans. We are paid by the bushel but all grain is measured by weight.
