SOIL | Yes, been doing this for years.
I used to plant with a mixed fleet, but run Deere combines. SMS, (Trimble Farmworks before it was discontinued) is the one program that handles them all just fine.
For AutoPath, I use Deere's Ops Center to handle boundaries and guidance, but SMS to handle the Variety Locator file mostly because it's easier to handle operator mistakes, forgetting to swap field names, varieties, that sorta thing during planting. The G4/G5 can import from different sources and be fine. The older 2630 isn't quite as easy.
When harvest is over, just export everything to USB and SMS will import it all fine. I will admit, I don't like how SMS throws that "NEW Monitor" message, because I'm never quite sure how to handle it, but it always comes in just fine in the end. | |
