Subject: Re: International 1586 good, bad or otherwise

I havent had personal expereince using one, but have some church freinds that have a 1486, 1086 and several 88 series IHs. I have ridden along in several of them & heres what I noticed (for what its worth..not much lol) The 1486 rode a lot rougher than the 88s (like mentioned above) and had the gearshift/range selectors on the left side of the seat..something I didn't like at all, but otherwise was fairly quiet, good a/c etc. The 5288 has the controls placed a lot better and also the door seemed to work better. (some IHs had suicide doors lol) The 88s seemed to be a real quiet cab..probably equal to a JD sound guard, where-as the 86 series was quiet but not that good and seemed to have more transmission gear whine. Both seemed to have real good power, and I think they have had generally good results with both series.

This info is worth what u paid ;-) lol
