That's a majority or what I've bought, but the money I put into mutual funds have done much better $$ wise. It's more liquid, but my land will pay rent when I retire also.
I had to call Edward Jones about my kids 529 plan. He wanted me to come in and talk. I haven't put money into their account since 2008, which happens to be when I made my biggest land purchase. The total dollars I have invested there are now worth 6 times as much. If I would have put all the land payments into the stock market,I would be retired now. It's kind of hard to feed cows without land though, and without cows and land I wouldn't have money to put in the market! |
