I always used to think that also until I tested that theory myself. If the corn has a very poor finish yes, the kernels will be lighter, but they will also be much smaller. Therefor the change in TW honestly doesn't change that much and can actually go up. You get a lot more small kernels in a cubic foot than large kernels. Kinda like wet corn has lower TW than dry corn.
