nw pa | We were in a different position with one of our sons. Wanted to play little gridders and all the rest.. The problem is the wife's side has plenty of knee problems and at the growing stages they were in it was a concern.. Her brothers all three had knee operations in tenth grade from football injuries.. I said no,told him to get himself in shape, you get to junior year, you can go out for football,,It was a long few years but he lived up to his end and so did we. Offered him a thousand bucks not to play but he said no.
All worked out he had some speed played first team for two years ,they went to states but didn't win it all, but they were undefeated for two years "one loss"
I guess as a parent it's your decision, but I would never force him to do it.. You need the inner passion to do well,he may get it later along with some size
good luck to you and him | |
