NEMO | Here in northeast Missouri, I would venture to say that early corn is still very good, but has lost a small percentage of yield due to dry and hot finish. Later corn will also be good , but not as good as it could. Beans are loosing a very large percentage of yield as there is nothing in the soil to finish them and nothing on the horizon for rain. The beans actually could have been a monster bean crop as they were tall and the nodes were close enough that the pods from an upper node were hanging over the next lower node anchor. It's a shame to see what the yields could have been dwindle away. It is Missouri after all, so nothing new to be extremely dry at some point. | |
