Yes cooking oil has been around longer than 1930. There is archeological evidence. There is evidence or its production in art. There is evidence of it in writings.
The oldest writings in the world Sumerian cuneiform tablets have been found with text on how to make sesame oil. Sesame oil is talked about in the Bible.
